Volunteers are needed to help set up for events, take out the trash for the bartenders, clean up and make minor repairs.

Charity Event

This year’s event will be held on Saturday, February 18th from 5pm to 11pm. Music will be provided by the Ho-Kiss Po-Kiss Band (you have to see them to believe what they do). The charities selected by the Charity Committee that will receive the net proceeds will be: Hospice of Chesapeake and US Coast Guard Spouses Association.

These are two very deserving charities who will have representatives at the event to give you a better understanding of what they do in our communities.

You should of received the letter and 3 raffle tickets asking for your support. We would love to see you there but if you can not make it you can still help by buying the 3 raffle tickets which will give you 3 chances to will some cash.

Super Bowl XLVI Party

The Pro Football season is underway and again this year our lodge will attempt to have two Super Bowl Raffles.

Each entry entitles you and one guest to attend the February 5, 2012 Super Bowl Party.

Your $65.00 commitment will give you the opportunity to win (4) four Grand Prizes and (16) sixteen secondary prizes per ticket.

The party includes the game on a ten foot jumbo screen, a delicious two hour buffet before the game; hot dogs, chili, snacks, etc., at the half time and six beverage tickets.

For a $20.00 donation per person payable at the door you can attend the "Party" which includes everything EXCEPT the raffles plus three (3) beverage tickets.

In order to finalize all the information required to set up the raffles, etc. I am requesting previous participants make their commitments by December 31, 2011.

Deadline for all entries is January 19, 2012. Multiple entries are welcome.

Doors open 4:00 pm; buffet served 4:30 pm till 6:30 pm. Game starts at 6:30 pm.

Proceed from this event will be donated to Local Charities.

Make checks payable to BPOE#2309, Memo SBXLVI, and mail or bring to the Lodge in an envelope marked "Super Bowl".

Wii Bowling League

We will be starting a Wii Bowling League on Wednesdays starting this month. Sign up on the bulletin board in the Lounge. More information to follow as more members sign up to play.

We are in need of white socks for males and females, magazines, books, pens, crackers and cash donations so we can continue to get the additional items along with the comfort bags that the Lodge pays for.

We have many members on the Delinquent List which can be found on the Bulletin Board in the Lounge. If you were the sponsor of any of these members or know them please contact them and ask them to bring their membership up to date by paying their dues.

If you are a business owner, an active member of this Lodge and would like to be listed in future Bulletins and would be willing to give members of our Lodge a discount on your services we would like you to provide us via letter or e-mail your name, membership number, name of business, address, phone number and brief description of your business’s product as well as what discount you would be willing to offer. We would also need to know if your company is bonded and insured.

Football Season is Here

Once again we will be having food during Sunday football games.

During the season we will have several Pot Luck Sundays so you can bring a dish and share with others.

When we are not having Pot Luck Sundays we will have food available in the Lounge for a reasonable amount.

If you have any suggestions on the food we offer or would like to help to prepare and cook please let the bartenders know and they will pass the word.

Reminder - Game Room Use

Please remember that during scheduled play of the
Shuffleboard or Pool League no other activities are permitted during these times. This rule was passed by the House Committee last year.

House Committee Notice


Members are ONLY allowed to be in the lodge during normal business hours.
The only exceptions are those members who have a valid reason to be there.

For the safety of all members, their guests and the employees of the Bowie Elks, the House Committee asks that members and their guests enter the Lodge either through the Lounge front door using your card key or via the hall front doors when coming for an event like Friday Night Dinner. Thanks for your cooperation.


Thirsty Thursdays

2 for 1 drinks will be served in the lounge on Thursdays between 4pm and 7pm (only).

Lodge Guest Policy on Tuesday Evening

Non members are welcomed on Tuesday evenings when accompanied by a sponsoring member.
However, if there is a Lodge Meeting, the lounge is closed during the meeting and all guest must leave the premises.

Please refer to Lodge #2309 By Laws for additional information.

Book Worms Welcome
By now you all know we were blessed with a large donation of books.   I will be starting a "borrow" bookcase in the game room.   Please feel free to borrow and read as many books as you like and when you're done please bring them back so others can enjoy them.   If you have any books you want to donate, please let me know.   I would like to thank Al Stanziale for the donation of the bookshelf.
