JOHN BYRON PATRICK "Pat" On Sunday, July 25, 2010, of Crofton, MD.
Beloved husband of the late Lola Conte Patrick; loving father of Thomas Patrick and his wife Linda, Robert Patrick and his wife Pati and Michael "Scott" Patrick; step-father of Joette Waters and her husband Blake Gardiner, Nancy Dawson and her husband Tom and Richard Conte; grandfather of Byron, Shaun, Meghan and Neil Patrick, Jessica and Gina Conte, Nicholas and Lisa Waters and Rachele and Valerie Dawson. Also survived by three great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends at the family-owned BEALL FUNERAL HOME, 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Rte. 3 South), Bowie, MD on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and on July 31, 2010 from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday, August 1, 2010 from 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1800 Seton Dr., Crofton, MD on Monday, August 2, 2010 at 10 a.m. Interment, Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville, MD.
If desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Hwy., Annapolis, MD 21041.

5K Drawing
In addition to the current procedure of “Rolling Over” any money that is won during a “5K” raffle to the next scheduled raffle, unless otherwise requested the following procedure will apply to the “Final Five” portion of the “5K” raffle.
If the “Ticket Holder” of the final five numbers drawn is NOT present or being represented the decision of the $5000 will be determined by the people who are present or represented.
Tickets for the November 6, 2010 raffle must be paid in full by Saturday, October 23, 2010.
Unpaid tickets will be forfeited and offered for sale to interested Elk Members or Elk Widows. Current ticket holders may purchase their tickets for the next raffle on the night of the current drawing. Tickets will not be issued unless paid in full. No installments or partial payments. Tickets are non-transferable. Accounting is easier if payment is made by check, payable to Bowie Elks #2309, Memo 5K raffle, raffle date and ticket number (s).
10 weekly drawings for $60 are now being held. Unpaid tickets will not be eligible for subsequent drawings. Weekly winners will be eligible for the final drawing. Donations per ticket is $60.
Drawing Schedule: Doors open 5pm., Dinner 5:30 to 7 pm, Drawings approx. 7:15pm.

10 raffle tickets for $5.00 – Drawing done at the Crab Feast – September 11, 2010. Winner does Not have to be present to win.

House Committee Notice
Members are ONLY allowed to be in the lodge during normal business hours.
The only exceptions are those members who have a valid reason to be there.
For the safety of all members, their guests and the employees of the Bowie Elks,
the House Committee asks that members and their guests enter the Lodge
either through the Lounge front door using your card key or via the hall front doors
when coming for an event like Friday Night Dinner. Thanks for your cooperation.

Lodge Guest Policy on Tuesday Evening
Non members are welcomed on Tuesday evenings when accompanied by a sponsoring member. However, if there is a Lodge Meeting, the lounge is closed during the meeting and all guest must leave the premises.

Book Worms Welcome
By now you all know we were blessed with a large donation of books.   I will be starting a "borrow" bookcase in the game room.   Please feel free to borrow and read as many books as you like and when you're done please bring them back so others can enjoy them.   If you have any books you want to donate, please let me know.   I would like to thank Al Stanziale for the donation of the bookshelf.
